About us

Jigsaw Roscommon is a free, non-judgemental and confidential support service for young people (12-25) living in Roscommon Town and county. We provide guidance and support for young people who are going through a difficult or distressing time. We also provide advice and guidance for anyone who is concerned about a young person in their life or work. Please note: Jigsaw Roscommon is not a 24 hour or Emergency service. Our phone and email services are NOT checked outside of opening hours.

Direct support for young people

Our Jigsaw Service in Roscommon Town provides a welcoming space for young people to get information or have a chat with a support worker. If a young person wants support, our staff are there to listen, without making judgements, and to provide supportive guidance. We also provide information and advice to anyone who is worried about a friend or young person in their life.

Working with young people

As well as directly helping young people in tough times, we want to work towards a community that is supportive of mental health and well being. Presentations and talks in schools, workplaces and community groups aim to open up a discussion on mental health and raise people’s awareness of the support that Jigsaw Roscommon can offer. We also work to improve the support available to young people by connecting with the many organisations throughout the county. The aim is to make sure that young people have better access to support in their local town / area.

Project Manager

I am Project Manager of Jigsaw Galway and Roscommon. I’m passionate about youth mental health and ensuring that young people are supported as they move from childhood in to early adulthood. I am also determined to destigmatise help-seeking (the idea of asking for help when you need it).

Study and work

I have worked in Jigsaw since November 2008 and have had a number of roles since then, including facilitating the Youth Advisory Panel.

Jigsaw Clinician

I joined Jigsaw as a clinician in 2019 after relocating from Dublin to Galway.

Study and work

I studied in Dublin City University and have an Honours Degree in Psychology and MSc in Psychotherapy.  I worked with young people in Youth Advocacy and Foroige before training as a Psychotherapist.

Prior to joining Jigsaw, I worked as a Student Counsellor in the Student Counselling Service in Trinity College Dublin. This work has given me great insight into the lives of young people and families.

Interests & Hobbies: I enjoy spending time with friends & family and going on walks with my dog Penny.

Advice to my younger self: Accept who you are and life is a journey which means things will change and that is okay.
