An update on Jigsaw coming to Tipperary
An update on Jigsaw coming to Tipperary
Wednesday, 10 March 2021
We are delighted by the support for the opening of our Jigsaw service in Tipperary. The pandemic has undoubtedly impacted progress.
As an organisation, supporting young people’s mental health is central to everything we do. We remain absolutely committed to bringing our service to young people and the community as quickly as possible. Here are some updates on the current status of the project.
Timeline for new service
Location confirmed
In February 2021, we signed a lease for our new premises. Progress towards securing this location was slower than we would have liked. But we are delighted to finally call Thurles Technology Park our new home
Fit out processes underway
As we are publicly funded, we need to go through a transparent tendering process for the works needed on the premises to fit it out as a youth mental health service. That tender has been issued. All going according to schedule, the intention would be that the works commence six weeks from now.
Fire safety and disabled access certs applications lodged
We are pleased to say that the disability access certificate has now been approved, as of 3rd March. The fire safety certificate is in progress.
Recruitment complete
Recruitment of the team for Jigsaw in Tipperary is almost complete, with just one post left to fill. You can keep up to date with all our latest vacancies on our careers page. This team is made up of a Service Manager, a Clinical Manager, three clinicians from a range of mental health disciplines, a Service Administrator and a Youth & Community Engagement Worker.
We are working extremely hard to move through all of the above steps in as short a time as is possible. We estimate that the premises will be ready in June. While we are aware that there are a number of areas that are outside of our control, we will continue to work tirelessly to this target date
