Ask Jigsaw: I feel like everyone hates me

Monday, 23 November 2020

I am always down and sad. I’m 13 and I’m a girl I feel like everyone hates me and I’m alone. I have a few friends but I’ve been sad because I lost my very close friends and it’s hurting. I feel like I have anxiety but I don’t know. I’m really a mess and I need someone to talk to. I’m crying a lot and sad. I feel like nobody understands thank you for taking ur time

Hi Bb,

Feeling down can make us feel fed up, teary,  lonely and worried. It can also change how we view situations. We can think that people dislike us or that we aren’t good enough, even though these thoughts aren’t true. This can be exhausting and it’s important to mind yourself when feeling this way.

It can be useful to concentrate on yourself during this time and doing things that help you feel good about yourself.

Friendships

Some friendships can naturally grow apart. As we grow older we often find new interests and hobbies that allow us to meet new friends. Similarly, we can lose friends or drift apart and that’s part of life. This can be challenging, but it can be useful to concentrate on yourself during this time and doing things that help you feel good about yourself. For example, focus on these five things you can do daily to help support your mental health.

Although it is unpleasant experiencing these feelings there are ways to manage anxiety.

Anxiety

It’s not unusual to feel anxious with all that is going on. We all experience anxiety and it can be a sign that something needs our attention. Although it is unpleasant experiencing these feelings there are ways to manage anxiety . It can also be helpful to look at other aspects of your life such as your sleep, getting enough exercise  and creating routines to ensure you are looking after your mental health.

Talk to someone

Talking to others about what is going on can relieve a lot of stress. You are welcome to use the Jigsaw Live Chat  where you can talk more about your situation, learn some ways to manage your feelings and explore some options together with a member of the Jigsaw Online team.

Take care,
