About us

Jigsaw Roscommon is a free, non-judgemental and confidential support service for young people (12-25) living in Roscommon Town and county. We provide guidance and support for young people who are going through a difficult or distressing time. We also provide advice and guidance for anyone who is concerned about a young person in their life or work. Please note: Jigsaw Roscommon is not a 24 hour or Emergency service. Our phone and email services are NOT checked outside of opening hours.

Direct support for young people

Our Jigsaw Service in Roscommon Town provides a welcoming space for young people to get information or have a chat with a support worker. If a young person wants support, our staff are there to listen, without making judgements, and to provide supportive guidance. We also provide information and advice to anyone who is worried about a friend or young person in their life.

Working with young people

At Jigsaw, we believe it is vital to make sure young people’s voices are heard. Our Youth Advocates represent us and take part in decision making at every level.

As well as directly helping young people in tough times, we want to work towards a community that is supportive of mental health and well being. Presentations and talks in schools, workplaces and community groups aim to open up a discussion on mental health and raise people’s awareness of the support that Jigsaw Roscommon can offer. We also work to improve the support available to young people by connecting with the many organisations throughout the county. The aim is to make sure that young people have better access to support in their local town / area.

Our partner organisations

Service Manager

A weird and wonderful journey that led to Jigsaw started with a degree in Physiology in UCD while labs were never my true love I adored my time in college becomingly heavily involved in Cumann Gaelach UCD as well as with UCD Students Union.

Study & work

It was UCD Students Union where my working life started as the Welfare Officer and Vice President of the Union where I had so many opportunities to run events, campaigns and help develop university policy to help out my fellow students.

Following my time in the Union I started working in the corporate world as an Area Manager in operations in both Scotland and Northern Ireland for a number of years. My passion though was always to get back home and get into the voluntary sector which thankfully ended up happening!

Interests & hobbies

I love skiing and actually am a qualified ski instructor! Formula one is a recent addition to my life but now I can’t get enough of it! Working with and promoting the Irish language is a passion that has followed me through college to this day so be prepared for cúpla focal!

Advice to younger self

Is trom cearc I bhfad – remember to slow down sometimes!
