Receiving the results of your Leaving Cert is a big milestone – congratulations on getting this far!
With your results can come a lot of emotions – excitement, happiness, relief, anxiety, stress, and a feeling of being overwhelmed. It’s normal to feel one or more of these emotions and it can be a lot to process.
However you’re feeling about your results; remember it is not the end of the road, but the beginning.
Here are four great supports to help you with how you’re feeling and planning for your next steps:
Discuss your options with an expert
There is a lot to think about once you have your results. You can chat through your options with a Youth Information Officer. This service is text based and online. Outside of these hours, you can leave a message and receive a reply by email.

- When: 4pm to 8pm, Monday to Friday.
Talk about how you’re feeling with Jigsaw
There can be a lot of feelings that come with getting your results, including feeling disappointed, anxious, or overwhelmed. It can help to talk these feelings through with a mental health professional. You can chat online to a member of the Jigsaw team. There is no waiting list, and the service is always free. The conversation takes place over text and lasts up to an hour. It is a great way to get help in coping with how you’re feeling.
